But his manager convinced him not to be foolish. "I'm a competitor," the feisty Maypen right fielder said. "I'll play through just about anything." Given time to reflect on the situation, he knew it was in his best interest to get immediate treatment. The injury is expected to keep Fearon out of action for 4 weeks.
Fearon is hitting .262 so far this season with 36 RBIs and 40 runs scored. He has 55 hits including 13 home runs, 32 walks and .364 OBP. | | Wednesday, June 14th, 2000: Giants Shepheard Suffers Injury Spanishtown fans will be disappointed to learn that Odis Shepheard developed a tender shoulder while throwing a pitch in today's game. After the doctor informed the Spanishtown Giants manager that Shepheard was expected to miss 1-2 weeks, the manager told the press that the rest of the team would have to step up their play until the starting pitcher could return. "You can't make excuses in baseball, because there's always a game tomorrow," said the team's skipper.

He has pitched 98.2 innings, allowed 70 hits, struck out 102 and has a 2.55 ERA. | | Tuesday, June 13th, 2000: 3 Boomers for Patie Today was a special one for Steffen Patie of the Halfwaytree Browns as he slammed three home runs in the 5-4 win over the Maypen Iguanas.
"Lately, I been uppercutting the ball too much. I would hit it hard, but they just went sky high and stayed in the ballpark," he said to sportswriters after the game. "No big long outs for me in this game... I leveled out my swing and connected on the sweet spot three times. I knew they were gone the minute I hit 'em."
The Halfwaytree right fielder had quite a game at Browns Field as he collected 3 hits in 3 at-bats, drove in 4 and scored 4 runs.
S. Patie walked in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off H. Scurvin in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off H. Scurvin in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off K. Calnek in the 8th.
