Jamaica League News Article | | | Sunday, June 11th, 2000: Lancelot Sidelined for 4 Weeks The Portmore Pirates were dealt a serious blow when the team learned that Oren Lancelot was likely to be out for 4 weeks after he injured himself running the bases in today's game against the Maypen Iguanas. A round of tests by the team doctors revealed the injury to be a strained hamstring muscle. Upon learning of their diagnosis, the Portmore manager told the press, "As you all know, we can't control injuries--they are a part of the game. We just have to do the best we can until Oren is back in action."
Looking at his season stats, Lancelot has compiled a .248 batting average and a .295 on-base percentage, while hitting 12 home runs and driving in 41 runs. | |
