Steffen Trowers kept the Pelicans from doing any damage to the Tuna today at Channel Yard. Kingston's 4 hits and 3 walks came to naught as Pt Antonio took the contest 6-0. Trowers added 1 strikeout in his complete-game effort.
This season Trowers has compiled a 13-9 mark with a 4.50 ERA.

 | Sunday, September 16th, 2001: Season Over for Broady in Kingston
Kingston fans will be disappointed to learn that Jamaal Broady developed a torn thigh muscle while running the bases in today's game. After the doctor informed the Kingston Pelicans manager that Broady was expected to miss 2 weeks, the manager told the press that the rest of the team would have to step up their play until the third baseman could return. "You can't make excuses in baseball, because there's always a game tomorrow," said the team's skipper.
This season Broady has hit at a .319 clip and produced 66 RBIs, 23 home runs and 57 runs scored.

Shon Orgill is respected by most Kingston Pelicans fans for his no-frills style of play. The 27-year-old first baseman went about his business with vigor last week to grab the South League Player of the Week honors.
He compiled a .450 average (9-20) with 1 home run, 8 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
So far in 2001, Orgill is batting .295 with 8 home runs and 68 RBIs.
