Friday, October 12th, 2001: South League Top Rookie Announced
Old Harbour fans have reason to cheer today as center fielder Jackie Frusinetti brought home the South League Bronze Rookie for 2001.

He put together a .291 batting average on the strength of 161 hits and swatted 24 home runs. He also racked up 89 RBIs and scored 101 runs, signaling that this might be the beginning of a solid baseball career.

Friday, October 12th, 2001: SL Names Platinum Bat Winner
There was nobody hotter in the South League this season as Patrice Michaud attacked enemy pitching with a vengeance and came away with the Platinum Bat for 2001.

The 27-year-old right fielder hit .317 while collecting 174 hits, 36 doubles, 1 triple, 38 home runs and 116 RBIs. He also scored 109 runs and posted a .407 on-base percentage.

Monday, August 27th, 2001: SL's Star Player Named
25-year-old Jackie Frusinetti sent shock waves through Jamaica League last week with an eye-popping performance that brought him the South League Player of the Week Award.

A newcomer to the league, Frusinetti made the establishment sit up and take notice, punishing opposing pitchers with a .520 average, 13 hits in 25 at-bats, 4 home runs and 11 RBI.

Where the Old Harbour Fireflys center fielder goes from here, only the baseball gods know for sure, but Frusinetti certainly made his mark last week.

Frusinetti is batting .297 this season in 123 games with 19 home runs, 70 RBIs and 87 runs scored. He has 137 hits in 462 at-bats.
