| Breaking News |  | Sunday, September 23rd, 2001: Linstead Loses Lyttelton, Will Miss Season
The news is bad in Linstead. The Green Sox have lost the services of shortstop Leonel Lyttelton for the rest of the season due to a fractured elbow. Lyttelton was injured in a recent game with the St Ann Northerns while throwing the ball and is expected to miss 7 months.
So far this year Lyttelton is batting .289 with 17 home runs.

 | Saturday, September 22nd, 2001: No Hits for Fong, Streak Ends at 20
Randal Fong saw his 20-game hitting streak wither and die today during the Northerns 7-4 victory over Linstead at Saint Ann Stadium. The 26-year-old shortstop was held hitless in 5 at-bats by Green Sox, but his St Ann teammates produced enough offense to garner the win.
Talking to BNN reporters after the game, Fong was upbeat, "Am I disappointed about the hit streak? Maybe, just a little bit. How could you be unhappy after you have hit in 20 straight games? I'm just glad it lasted as long as it did. And I am really happy that we won another ballgame today. Life is good."
So far this season Fong has hit .322 with 4 home runs, 63 RBIs and and scored 64 times.

| Friday, September 21st, 2001: Fong Ups Hit Streak to 20 Consecutive Games
Fans around the league are beginning to get interested in the Northerns 26-year-old shortstop Randal Fong. What is drawing all the attention is his 20-game hitting streak. Fong extended it again in today's game with the Green Sox with 1 hit. But it wasn't enough. Linstead won the game 2-1.
R. Fong flied out in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, grounded out in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
This season in 121 games Fong is batting .326 with 4 home runs, 63 RBIs and has scored 64 times.
