Friday, October 12th, 2001: NL Bronze Rookie Presented
Erin Heminge's age didn't show very often in his first year. He performed more like a veteran on the hill for the Ochorios Jazz and today he walked away with the 2001 North League Bronze Rookie.

The 20-year-old starter registered a 8-11 record this season in 28 starts. Over 177 innings he gave up 188 hits, struck out 134 and issued 41 walks as he held the opposition to a .273 batting average and fashioned a 3.61 ERA.

Saturday, September 15th, 2001: Injury Sidelines Karram For Year
The season is ending on a bad note for Amos Karram, shortstop for the Ochorios Jazz. It was announced today that he will miss the rest of the season because of injury. Karram was hurt against the Linstead Green Sox while colliding with a player at a base. He suffered a fractured wrist and will be out for at least 4 weeks.

This season Karram is batting .276 with 24 home runs. He has scored 96 runs and driven in 62.

Friday, September 14th, 2001: Ochorios's Heminge Shuts out Green Sox
Erin Heminge of the Ochorios Jazz was masterful today, pitching a 4-hit 4-0 shutout against the Linstead Green Sox and giving his bullpen a rest by going the distance.

According to his manager, "He had command of every ball and every pitch... great location, too." Heminge had 8 strikeouts and issued 2 walks in an impressive outing.

In 27 starts this season Heminge has chalked up a 8-10 record and a 3.45 ERA.
